What's in a Name?Mad as a Hatter,
And just as good looking,
Run away, far away!
Intelligent yet insane,
Every cat's best friend.
Am I so foolish to say such a thing?
Enter the conscience: angel and devil;
"The answer lies within," one says,
Halo in hand, "But only you will
Ever find it, so seek you must--"
"Ridiculous!" blurts the other,
And so saying, sticks out her tongue.
My Life in Fiction - SynopsisMost people in Marie's situation would like to believe that they would put on a brave face, showing the world that it would take more than deteriorating health (and sanity) to stop them... but most people aren't Marie. In fact, half the time Marie isn't Marie, either. Oh, I know what you're thinking. 'What nonsense is this?' Well, I'll tell you. There's a certain amount of safety in nonsense.
Living in a Fantasy World starts with Marie's search for a way to cope with life, and as she finds just such a method... reality begins to fray. First only small things are disrupted, then larger contradictions arise. Is it her sanity finally flaking? Or perhaps something else entirely? Worse, is it something more sinister?
They're More Like Guidelines...Resolutions, rules,
Just thoughts really,
Only myself to blame.
Diet, the evil word.
Healthy eating really means
Protein, fruit, and veggies;
Sugar abandoned, boo.
What little I can do,
Walking the block,
Up and down the hill.
For fun instead, writing,
Pushing myself to do,
Daily if possible,
But more than I do now.
Likewise, I must edit,
All the works gone by.
Closer to completion,
That goal of "publication".
Lastly comes 'live again',
Harder than it sounds.
What it means in truth, I fear,
I've no earthly inclination.
Here's to me, working onward,
Some guidelines for the future,
Whether I'll succeed or not,
Your guess as good as mine.
