For the month of February, I threw together groups of six people, each writer directed to write a six word story that flowed into the next, giving us six lines, six words per line, for a grand total of thirty-six words. It can be very hard to write a story with actual characters and progression on any theme in so few words, let alone have each line tell its own story and continue in the next line, but I think our groups did well!
The theme for all the groups was Happiness, but each group had a smaller theme within that to focus on. From there they brainstormed as a group, picking the focus of their story however they liked. Some groups got a bit cramped at the end of the four weeks, but everyone still managed to submit a six line six word story at the end of the month, even if only three members of the group ended up contributing finalized lines.

A Writer's Thoughts and Questions
I may have failed to mention that I started a blog recently, and I am attempting to follow a blog challenge designed by someone I discuss writing with on a Discord server. It's a good attempt, and while my day to day success is still mitigated by migraines, I think it will be a wonderful project overall that gets me in a habit of writing new stories for the best reason of all: because I can. If I can start scheduling posts ahead of time while my mind is functioning, and get in the habit of doing so, all will be golden.
Anyway... I began with a straightforward explanation of why I write (the blog challenge's first instruction), but come a wee
Holy crap, is that a MotleyDreams sighting?!
So, uh... hi? I feel like I'm sneaking in the back door and pretending I'm not late to the party, here. Oops. It's been years since I posted here, and the last few entries in my journal were just reposts of useful links and resources (which don't really count in my mind as updates of anything). I've been away, and now I'm considering poking around again. I likely don't know anyone who's still around from before my sabbatical (yeah, that's what we'll call it =p), and frankly I went and deleted all the notifications in my message center because I couldn't even begin to wade through the nearly 4,000 messages. I guess I really have been gone awh
Another NaNo Approaches
No, it may not be November, but it's still time to write like crazy, at least for those of us who do that sort of thing. I'm having trouble deciding if I am going to participate or not... I keep trying and failing. At least with Camp NaNo, you can set your own goal, instead of the 50K craziness of November. (I approve of this.)
Are you one of the many writers planning to work feverishly for a month on one of the programs being run, or a similar one of your own creation? (The list includes Camp NaNoWriMo, NaPoWriMo, Screnzy, and more.) If you're interested, you should check out the links below, most of which I grabbed straight from :devcrlite
[Yet] Another NaNoWriMo!
Huzzah, it's time (once again) for National Novel Writing Month! If you're interested, you should check out the links below, most of which I grabbed straight from CRLiterature (https://www.deviantart.com/crliterature), where you can keep tabs on the active literature scene. Most of these are old, but if the challenge hasn't changed, there isn't really a need for repeat articles on the topic.
LionesseRampant (https://www.deviantart.com/lionesserampant) wrote a great Get Ready for Camp article for those doing the "camp" version of NaNoWriMo, which applies just fine now, also. The amazing PinkyMcCoversong (https://www.deviantart.com/pinkymccoversong) has written several articles that might help, from Please Pants Responsibly to Prewriting Prowess, and for those who, like
